Keeping a ‘Panic Attack Diary’

When you are learning about panic and trying to relate it to your own experience – it is very helpful to write down all your observations in a Panic Attack Diary.

The Diary is useful in many ways

  • It helps you monitor your experience from a more objective point of view
  • Helps to ‘NORMALISE’ your symptoms and reactions.
  • You see more clearly the connection between symptoms and catastrophic thoughts and behaviours
  • You learn how to IDENTIFY, CHALLENGE and CHANGE any unrealistic thinking.

It is MOST useful if you can fill it in DURING a panic attack.

DO THIS RIGHT AWAY – Print out several for each day of the week.
