Dizziness, light headedness

ANXIOUS THOUGHTS

I will pass out / faint / fall down

ALTERNATIVE PERSPECTIVE

Dizziness is a common symptom of anxiety – it is caused by the fight or flight response.

SPIN in an office chair or while standing up for one minute.

DROP SAFETY BEHAVIOURS

ie. Don’t sit or lie down afterwards. Don’t hold on to anything.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIMENT

After you stop spinning stand on one leg or even close your eyes.

OBSERVE

The effects of anticipatory anxiety, misinterpretation, catastrophisation and changes in the degree of belief in the old thoughts as you implement your alternative perspective.

REFLECT

ie. I did not fall down or faint even when I stood on one leg.
