‘Normalising Statements’

It’s just a ‘tired thought in a tired mind’

The thought is NOT the problem – it’s a DECOY

The thought arose because of anxiety

It is still in my head because of the ‘anxiety cycle’

It is no different than if a SONG were stuck in my head – would I worry about the LYRICS?

It’s just a ‘MISTAKE’ I have set in motion myself

I am giving the thought more importance than it deserves

I’m not going ‘insane’ or ‘mad’

My mind does not have a ‘mind of it’s own’

LOTS of people get this with anxiety

Understanding and practice WILL dissolve this

I must LET TIME PASS

I need to relax TOWARDS the anxiety even slightly

I have felt this before and never actually lost control.
