Stop watching the CLOCK! – It will pass – WAIT – give it TIME.
Adrenaline cannot be produced indefinitely – this WILL pass – and each time you let it pass you prove to yourself that panic – although scary – is not actually dangerous.
Even try going to the other extreme – say to yourself – “Ok – if it takes all day – so what – it’s just adrenaline – I’m in no danger” This helps diffuse the sense of ‘urgency’.
Stop looking so SERIOUS! – SMILE !
I know it seems like a strange suggestion but ‘smiling’ can help remind you that ‘all is well’ and send relaxing signals to the body – so no need for any more fight or flight responses!
